Yawning Portal Campaign Guide: Volume 2

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Beware the Potions of Thingizzard!

Notation on the map of White Plume Mountain

Tales from the Yawning Portal collects the greatest hits from the history of Dungeons and Dragons. The Yawning Portal Campaign guides contains a backstory, hooks and encounters to provide links and context to connect these adventures into an epically deadly and epically fun campaign.

Volume Two continues the story arc began in the first volume with travel encounter tables, encounters, and hooks for the Hidden Shrine of TamoachanWhite Plume Mountain, and Doomvault. It also contains, Cabinet of Curiosities, an original adventure that takes characters into a mansion of a Red Wizard spy.

The hooks and encounters in this volume can be used as part of a campaign, with individual adventures from Tales from the Yawning Portal, or as encounters in a treasure hunting campaign of your own design.

No. These arent map bundles. These are designed to assist a GM by explaining each area of the normal map and filling gaps or plat holes for the modules. It also gives an underlying story that helps link the book into one long campaign. it has maps for things that are added, but not for the module itself. If you want digital maps from whats in the book, the guy who did the maps for the book has a website and you can buy and download them there https://prints.mikeschley.com/

Stacy,
These products are all 'add ons' to the published book. It is an attempt to provide an underlying story to connect the dungeons in YP together. However, the parts can also be used on their own or just with individual dungeons from YP

No, thats fine. I just started a campaign using the guide as a filler this week. We didnt even make it to the citadel in the first session because everyone went roleplay heavy in some early pieces I wrote. Your homestead Kobolds nearly killed someone :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
