Attention Fantasy Grounds Fifth Edition DMs!

This is a .mod file for Fantasy Grounds only - No PDF.

Here is a FG block of pregenerated bandit NPCs for use in your campaign.

Why is this awesome?  Well, I'm glad you asked.

1.  There is a separate NPC entry for each bandit;

2.  Each bandit has been carefully created according to the Fifth Edition Player's Handbook rules;

3.  There is a bandit of each level from 1 through 9 in each of the rogue class and fighter class (the "thug");

4.  For each of the rogue and thug NPCs, there is a male and a female version; resulting in four separate NPCs per levels 1-9;

5.  Each NPC has entered all of the appropriate skills, stats, abilities and feats, matching its level;

6.  Each NPC has a detailed inventory, suggested names, links to personality traits and trinkets;

7.  Each NPC has all possible weapons entered as actions and all possible armor types already entered.  To use, simply delete all weapons and armor types that do not apply and you are ready to go;

8.  Stats can be easily reskinned to serve as guards or virtually any other NPC that your players might run into;

9.  Includes legal token; and

10.  Premade encounters provided for CRs 1-9.

Why are these things awesome?  Well, I'm glad you asked.

Simply copy the template and import the copied bandit(s) into your encounters.  Add names, quickly delete inapplicable armor and weapons and you are ready to go.  Perfect for creating encounters on the fly to perk up your wilderness adventure.

The bandits are easily scaleable to challenge groups of first to ninth level with virtually no preparation.

You will save tons of time and tedium with this mod.  Enjoy!

Just wanted to point out, that the creature type for your bandits is set to human. This can potentially cause problems with extensions or functions in Fantasy Grounds that rely on the common "humanoid" type descriptor.

I just noticed that some of them even have their whole categorization name (Bandit, Lvl 2, Rouge, Human, Male) set as creature type, which definitely is undesirable within FGU.

Hi,

is this a .mod for use in Fantasy Grounds, as it's only showing as a pdf to buy?

Cheers

Well, no, I'll have to fix that. The key to this package is time savings. I was always frustrated with trying to set up an impromptu random encounter on the fly in FG that was scaled to my party. This little package is designed to allow you to do that. Boring forest travel ahead? No worries! Pull a few of these guys out and you're good. Fix one to your liking and copy to make a quick army of bandits in seconds! Thanks for the purchase and the rating! As soon as I have a few extra minutes I'll update the CR.

Great little package. However I noticed that the CR scales nicely for the thug version from 1/4 to 2, but the rogue version stays fixed at 1/8 for all 9 levels. Is that intended?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
