Aha! You DID comment on the PC generator comments as well with this SAME comment. So again, you don't NEED any sources, but it will pull from all of them if you own them.

Does this work with the SRD data and DM basic rules, or do you need to own the Monster Manual? Looks really cool.

Suggestion for future version. Have a toggle on off for any module that is not owned. That way would not have to hit regenerate if it picks a monster not available. I need to figure out how to add custom tables. Great product. Thank you.

Typically it only includes official WotC sources. We are however working on a new encounter creator that will allow any source and let you choose by type, CR, alignment, wtc., etc. -- It's gonna be REALLY cool and useful, but it's a way off. VERY COMPLICATED programming.

Oh.. That new version sounds exciting. In the meantime, I am interested in using this in Eberron. How hard is it to add creatures to this module, if I wanted to expand it with some monsters from Rising from the Last War?

Oh yeah, you could easily just make an Eberron table to use with it.

Who doesn't like a random encounter. Rob's module dishes 'em up like nobody's business. Asleep around a campfire, without armor, BAM!

Just updated and made sure I owned all the books. Of all the mods I use this one the most - I live and breath by it.
(... that and Rob's sound mod. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/214602/Fantasy-Grounds-Sounds)

Hello. Just bought you Random Encounter addon along with the mega pack and a few others. just started to play around with the Random one and it will generate the encoutner all and fine, but it doesn't auto fill in the CR and XP values into the final encounter it creates. not sure if the recent updates to FG messed that bit up.

Hey, Ben, that is NOT a mistake. FG simply just doesn't auto calculate CR and XP from the generated template. The simple fix is after you get the whole encounter together, just make sure it's unlocked and then hit the CR circular arrow. It will calculate both CR and XP at that point. It IS intended to work just that way.

Hi Rob, Thanks for the great work!

Sadly there is a problem. One of the .mod files is missing. If i download it from the DMsG Library it only shows the file "rob2e_5E_Random_Monster_Tables.mod" to download which is called "Random_Encounter_Creator_(10602347).mod" when i download it. And as soon as i import it to FG it only shows "5e Random Monsters Table" listed in the modules, the "5e Random Encounter Creator" is missing.

Would be great if you could have a look in it. Cant wait to create some Encounters with it :)

Indeed. Weird. Something must have happened during my last update. I can assure you both files are there now. Please redownload. You probably already got notification of an update on DMs Guild.

Enjoy!

Hello Rob, i just bought 4 of your items. Very nice and well done all of them.
I was just wondering that if there is a discount in the Random Encounter Creator for those that has already bought the Random Monster Tables.
Is there a way to include in the list of source modules one made by PAR5E?
Thank you

Hey Sal. I appreciate your support. Glad you're enjoying. Regarding discounts for things that include other items, there's really no way to discount those. I've had extensive conversations with the One Book Shelf guys and DriveThru RPG does have bundle discount functionality for previous purchases, but DMs Guild DOES NOT. Sorry about that. The thought, though, is that you had the use of the previous item for as long as you did, and then it's just included with the new Encounter Generator because you can't use it without it. Hope that clears it up.

ThanX again Sal!

Rob, I have bought a couple of your other items,, then I saw the big bundle and bought it also even though I had bought others. This one is cool. I have been generating a lot of encounters with it and I did hit one snag on one of them. Should I send you a post on Fantasy grounds or how you would like to see the incorrectly generated encounter? I just generated another encounter and it was all good but figured I would send you the information

B.W., a snag? Really? Over 1000 tables and there was a snag? LOL So far people who have found errors, have then reported "user error". Ha. But I'll be glad to troubleshoot for you-

Go ahead and post what happened here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?36070-Truly-Random-Encounter-Creator-using-any-FG-monster-book

I'll take a look for you...

I am not complaining :) I just say at work if we don't recognize the issue: it will never get fixed! Going over there now to post. I do need to generate some more baddies for the Players though. They really do love random encounters.. or at least I think they do!

Hey Rob! Love your work, I've bought a few things of yours here on DMsGuild and loving it all so far.
Just grabbed this up as well.
Just quick question: If in the future WotC releases more Monster Manuals (or whatever they decide to call them, in the case of Volo's) will this be updated to include those, or will you release new modules with new content as a separate product?

Hey Robyn. ThanX for the kind words. Glad that you're liking my materials and that is a great question, I get that question a lot. The answer is yes, however, even though I do plan to do that with each new release, as I add to the tables it takes exponentially longer to complete the project because I have to go back and add all the new monsters to every table. So I do plan to absolutely do it but I hope people will be patient because it takes up to this point now hundreds of hours to complete that each time. ThanX again.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
