Giantslayer is my favorite module to run by far, I have run it a couple of times with different friends and will be running it again for my siblings.

This is amazing! It's easy to read, prepare and run!
The only downside is some/most of the maps are hard to copy onto roll20.
Is there any way for me to get the high resolution maps?

Thanks Tom! I didn't do hires versions of these maps, sadly. I do that for my newer adventures, but didn't back then.

Ran "Wizard in a Bottle" last night for a party of five level 2 characters (fighter, ranger, rogue, druid, warlock). We all had a great time - this is a really fun dungeon crawl with something interesting around every corner. Combat was solid for a party of this size and level. I did give the final boss 50 hit points instead of the suggested 10 in order to make than encounter more challenging. Total playing time was right around 3 hours - we ran out of time before we could really get into the role-playing section at the end. Since I'm running this as part of an ongoing campaign, I intend to let Amilya's re-integration play out as an ongoing subplot between adventures as opposed to playing it all at once. Incidentally, my players surprised me slightly by refusing to open the bottle until they had returned to civilization, which in retrospect makes sense.

One note for DMs: in preparing this adventure, it did occur to me that the party could easily complete the whole dungeon and not really...See more

So Im wondering is there a certain order to run the adventures like Giantslayer-Doorway to Darkness-Terror at Triboar?
Customer avatar
M.T. B October 15, 2017 7:37 pm UTC
CREATOR
That order is fine.

One good adventure path that will take your characters up to level 7 is TOTMM, DTD, IIM, MVFS, LSOH, ETTLP

I'm interested in this package as the reviews are great and there seem to be a lot of different types of content here. I would like to know what sort of setting these adventures were designed with in mind? Are they gritty/low-magic, or more traditional medieval fantasy, or something else in flavour?

They are all set in the Forgotten Realms, and reflect that classic high fantasy setting

I'm about to start a new campaign for my players. I'm always bad at getting the ball rolling, is there an adventure or two in here that will work for some level 5 players?

My son's mind was blown when I sent his first level party through "Giantslayer". He had no idea a low level party could achieve so much. Thank you for that. "Doorway to Darkness" has taught him a new respect for zombies, and he now has to find his way back from the Shadowfell...AWESOME! I've read through the other adventures in this collection and truly am looking forward to using them all. With that, I was wondering, will there be a Volume 2 with 2017 adventures? Please say yes.

Ran "Tower of the Mad Mage" recently for a party of 4 level 1 PCs (Fighter, Ranger, Druid, Warlock). We really enjoyed the adventure; the combat encounters were varied and very well-balanced for four level 1 PCs. After running afoul of the tower's many magical hazards, players were scared of the locked diary and opted to take it away with them instead of opening it on-site; should be amusing later. Skwelch the goblin was very well-received. Our playing time for the adventure was about 4.5 hours over two short sessions. I did opt to omit the wererat encounter and simplify the constable encounter in the interests of getting on to the tower, which I knew would hold more interest for my players. Definitely recommended.

I hope you don't mind, but I added a few of your adventures (the ones I've run and thus know well) to Matt Colville's Adventure Lookup. https://new.adventurelookup.com/adventures/

I think that they definitely deserve to be represented there and they all link back here to the Dmsguild pages.

An outstanding collection of adventures, easily 5 stars. You should buy it.

I ran "King of the Cats" last night as the first adventure of a new campaign with 5 1st-level PCs. Everybody had fun - the players particularly enjoyed the Congress of Cats and the very imaginative Clockwork Carnival. Bombalina proved to be a surprise hit as an NPC and may return in future adventures.

A few notes for "King of Cats" DMs:

- The playing time for this one can vary a LOT based on which paths of the investigation the party opts to pursue. We finished in less than 2.5 hours, and that was with the inclusion of one of the optional encounters (destitute former mentor). My players made choices that led them on a very direct path to the resolution, and I think it is quite possible that other groups would do the same. Not necessarily a bad thing, but the DM should probably be aware that this can happen, and be prepared to add padding if there is a need to fill a longer block...See more

Is there any way to become a 'verified purchaser' of each individual adventure without having to literally buy them? So far I've ran about four of these (Ivy Mansion, Magic village, Mad Mage Tower, & Little Shrine) and I plan to run another one soon (Dawn Chasers). I feel like I have a lot to say and recommend for each one. I could just leave a discussion post I suppose, but I feel reviews would be a lot more useful. But you can't review unless you are a verified purchaser.

Unfortunately, the Guild treats this collection as a separate product. It's a bit different to DTRPG, which allows you to bundle up individual adventures - buy the bundle and you effectively buy each individual adventure. But the Guild doesn't have that yet.

No - Complete Adventures is a separate product.

However, feel free to comment in the discussion fields on those individual products, as I'd be happy to hear your thoughts.

I've ran about three of your adventures so far and they've been absolutely great; my players love them, and they've been a blast to run. If I may ask, which of all of your adventures in your opinion is likely the longest and/or most epic?

Thankyou Joshua! All of my adventures are designed as one shots, so they are quite short. If you search on the Guild for the Harrell Hexalogy, you will see a loose campaign sequence I put together with some of them.

I am not sure who to talk to about it either. But wouldn't think it would be to hard. Your adventures are in the same realm and same rules. And you made the adventure easy to understand. They look like they could run them selves.

Just ran a party through "Temple of the Nightbringers" and it was fun and easy to prepare. Had to increase the number of monsters since the party was of higher level but everyone had a good time. Looking forward to running "Terror at Triboar" next.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
