Called Shots (an optional house rule)

So far I've been unable to find any rules for D&D 5e for performing called shots, aka targeted attacks. In this document I've attempted to produce a set of strait forward rules and possible effects for performing called shots.

- Created expanded roll penalty rules

PURCHASER
gunslinger archetype does add a targeting shot ability, which can be adapted.

Thanks, I'll have to look at how they set that up.

I looked at it and it largely looks like the same general idea as mine, except mine imposes more penalties. I think I would maintain the added penalties as the general set of rules, as compared to the gunslinger class feature, because it should be harder for just any character to achieve a targeted attack. This is considering that they are essentially using an untrained combat maneuver. The gunslinger in comparison would be trained, because it is a class feature, and thus have an easier time doing it and have better results when they succeed.
Though a given DM can always modify the rules as they see fit, as is always the case.

Plus Sharpshooter and Great Weapon Master feats do the -5 to attack roll with an added 10 damage. ALSO, to the creator, the entire file can be read with the full size preview. I don't know if this was your intention, but potential customers can just preview it, screenshot it, and leave without paying you for your work.

I did allow for the full document to be previewed intentionally. This way people can see everything that is there, before deciding if they want it. I also set it to Pay What You Want, which allows people to enter 0 for the amount payed and still download and use the document freely. To me having it available to all is most important and any payment I receive is purely in support of me and my work, rather than an obligation.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
