HOUSE of HORROR

A 15th Level adventure set in the city of Waterdeep. To add to the sense of danger, this adventure was designed as being possibly DEADLY, as is. So, see the note below before running it, if you plan on changing the difficulty.

As the adventurers are investigating the disappearance of a missing teenager in the city of Waterdeep, they stumble upon an old rundown mansion rumored to be haunted.

The search for a missing person will turn into a fight for survival when the heroes discover the haunting secret of the House of Horror, and become prey for what lurks in the basement.

Incudes 2 maps and a legend for ease of reference.

NOTE: Difficulty Setting: HARD! Be careful if you decide to run this with a group of less than 15th level. 3 play tests killed a total of 5 PCs. The 1st play test lost a 15th level rogue in a party of 4 (all 15th level) and a second play test was a TPK. They had four 15th level characters, but no healer. (2 barbarians, a warlock and a rogue.) 3rd play test dropped the 15th level wizard and our 15th level bard, but everyone ultimately survived. The party will need to plan their attack out for the final encounter. The adventure gives a sense of urgency to save the boy and your party may not rest and heal up. If you have a hack and slash group that rushes in, you may want to allow them to buy up some healing potions in some down time before you start the adventure!!

I have ran this a few times at some of the conventions I attended. I ran it as a tournament and everyone loved it. I have had a few TPKs. It mostly seems to kill the murder hobos.

My playtests have had similar results from the more aggressive groups. The ones that do best, think the situation through and heal up before heading down to the cellar.

After purchasing this I quickly realized that it's basically a copy of the free Death House module for Curse of Strahd, with some different monsters. Sad way to sucker people out of $2 really.

Sorry, you feel "suckered" I Don't own Curse of Strahd, nor have I read any of its contents. I assure you the content of House of Horror is all original. Any likeness to outstanding products is mere coincidence. Investigating a haunted house is a common enough theme to have overlapping thoughts and similar ideas.

The two are nothing alike! They both are about a spooky house. I see no other similarities.

Have you actually read Death House? I have ran it 5 times at conventions, I am very familiar with it and House of Horror is NOTHING like it!!! You must be a TROLL. No name? Figures.

Maybe you needs to read more slow my friend. I see nothing looking alike with the two adventures. Apples to dump trucks. They are that close in comparison my nameless troll.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
