The world can seem awfully lonely if the PCs are the only ones adventuring in it. What other ears have heard of the ancient elven treasure buried beneath the ruins? If the PCs trash the Grand Duke’s ball, who are the assassins he sends to retaliate? If the King needs demonslayers with discretion, perhaps he turns to a more subtle party.

Whether you need towering heroes, imposing villains, cunning rivals, or well-meaning allies, you’ll find them inside with stat blocks and backstories for 50 NPCs in ten fully fleshed out parties from CR 2 to 20

D&D 5th edition

I believe that because of the way licensing works for making money off of non-WotC products built for 5e, the actual name of the game is not allowed to be listed anywhere within the material

Love it. I hate the time it takes to build a balanced and interesting NPC party for the PC's to interact with. I enjoy the mix of good and evil parties, as it adds more flavour.

Hi Juliet,

I am always looking for ways to speed up certain tasks when DMing, and this struck me as excellent quick tool to flesh out multiple NPCs. It can be used either as designed, for an NPC group, although I may use it more as a 50 NPC reference.

A few questions thou:
Why not put an introduction at the beginning of your product to introduce it, and some of the ways it could be used moving forward.
The stats for the NPCs seem to be very inconsistent. If this is by design then that's fine, that being said, when looking at some of the NPCs, paticularly the high level ones, I was concerned to see that in several cases there are a few very strange stat allocations, the HPts are the lowest possible etc. I'll just use one as a reference. Morlos the 20th level Monk...other than a Dex of 14, all other stats are 10...it does not even follow the standard stat allocation at 1st level. Added to which our Monk will have 5 opportunities to increase his stats or take a feat, neither...See more

The reason the 20th level monk has bad ability scores is because he has been fighting for so long. His description says his mind and body are worn down.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
