Mac users, please be careful to never open the sheets with Preview. Opening them even once with Preview will cause the sheet's form-fillable fields and automation to be the subject to a disintegration spell.

Please take a look at the sheet's built-in FAQ before posing your questions.

Thanks Javier Aumente for being the magnificent mind behind the design of these sheets! Please check out his collection of awesomely designed sheets for several different systems, in Spanish (I'm not allowed to link to external sources here, so please Google "Hojas de Personaje - La partida del sábado" to find Javier's work).

These sheets would not have been in the state that they are in now, without to the work of some awesome people:

A big thanks to Gretkatillor over on ENworld.org. The code in this character sheet (since its redesign from v6.0 onwards) has partly been borrowed from and was otherwise inspired by Gretkatillor's work.

Furthermore, some people on ENworld.org deserve my thanks for their help with transcribing stuff: shmooel.yakov, Fitsou, Athinar, and Noah Ivaldi.

Lastly, Noah Ivaldi deserves a special mention for his help in making sure everything is proper English, which as a non-native speaker is very much appreciated!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm having an issue with the spell slots when multi-classing.
I'm using v12-991 and have levels set to Paladin 6/Sorc 5.
Looking at the Multi-class spell chart, I should have 4 3 3 2 spell slots but the sheet is listing it as 4 4 4 3 and has an annotation "of 8" and "Of 6" below the 1st 2nd and 3rd levels.
I'm not sure if this is something I can adjust or somehow correct or if it needs more significant changes to the sheet

On the "Show Extra Features" toolbar at the top of the sheets, turn on the "Mods" feature. This will allow you to edit your number of spell slots directly. (And yes, 4 3 3 2 is correct).

I never noticed this, either O_O ...I'd only done caster multiclassing where one of the classes was Warlock, which does work correctly. I tried a cleric 5/wizard 5 character just to see, and it correctly gave me 4 3 3 3 2. I think what's happening is that the sheet is not dividing the Paladin levels in half like it should, and simply adding them all together (Instead of doing the following and then checking the chart on PHB 164-65 : Paladin/Ranger : divide by 2; Rogue/Eldritch Knight/Arcane Trickster: Divide by 3. My guess is that nobody ever noticed before. Nice catch!

Thank you for contacting me about this bug. I have recently gotten a extensive bug report and had some back-and-forth with Nick on my Patreon who helped me to (finally) get to the bottom of this bug. This only happens when you make a character with a subclass and then subsequently change its subclass. This will be fixed in the next version.

In the meantime, you can use the solution that Eric suggested, by using the Mods button to change the amount of checkboxes shown.

@Erik: The sheet has no issue with correctly calculating the spell slots for classes that have half or one-third spellcasting progression. You can test this yourself, just make a Cleric 1, Eldritch Knight 3 and see what happens :)

I hope I don't come of as ungrateful, because having you answer some of these questions faster than I can is certainly helpful, but please don't speculate on the functionality of the sheet if you haven't tried it. You could have easily verified if the sheet is able to divide the Paladin level by half for calculating spell slots.

Moving the character portrait to the first page is rather tricky, because the first page is really busy. Something from the first page would probably have to be moved to the background page. But maybe you already have a good idea of how that would work. You can contact me via Flapkan[at]gmail.com if you are interested in pursuing this further.

Found a text parsing error on Feats (.992). Error is present on-screen and when printed:

- If a Feat is recognized by the system, text will overflow, cutting off a number of words. Also, these cannot be user-edited (will revert when the text box loses focus)
- If a Feat is NOT recognized by the system, text will overflow a bit beyond the edge of the last line, but all words are still present.

One minor and one not quite so minor error in .991/992 :) In order:

- When choosing a Primal Path for a barbarian, "Ancestral Guardian" appears twice

- When *importing* an older character sheet: When the sheet checks for prerequisites needed for Feats, it does this BEFORE filling in the stats. Ex: An imported character with 20 CHA will get "Prerequisites not met" error if they have the feat "Inspiring Leader" (which requires 13 CHA). The sheet gives the choice to add the Feat anyway.

As a response to your review: You can Matthew Mercer's DMs Guild stuff to the automation of the sheet. Just use the "Add Custom Script" bookmark and follow the link to get 'extras'. There you will find pre-written scripts you can import to the sheet, among which are the ones for Matt Mercer's creations.

I expect this to be dealt with in the coming weeks as Avast support is not so fast with these kind of issues. So please be patient and know that it is out of my hands.

Some other people have reported similar problems. I gave everybody the same advice, but nobody has responded to that advice so I don't know if it works...

The files on the DMs Guild site are not corrupt, I can download and use them without issue. The problem you are experiencing could either be due to the way you are downloading, your virus scanner tripping up the file, or the software you are using to open the files, but that last one is unlikely.

- I recommend to try to download using another browser.
- If that doesn't work, you can try to use the 'Dropbox' feature for downloading from DMs Guild (go to your My Library page to use this: http://www.dmsguild.com/my_library.php ).
- If that also doesn't work, you probably need to contact the people who run this website about this issue: http://www.dmsguild.com/contact_us.php

And good to see you found what it means. I made the Letter just for the North-Americans, as the rest of the world, myself included, uses A4 paper size (it is the international standard, ISO, after all). But just like the deal with the metric system, it seems that some parts of the world refuse to see its usefulness ;)

I don't see anything in the subclass that can't be put into the sheet's automation. It might be a bit of a challenge if you also want to add automation for the attacks (adding the bonus damage automatically), but there are a lot of examples of this in the code that you can cannibalize.

All of the code of this sheet is open source. You can see all of it on my GitHub (https://github.com/morepurplemorebetter/MPMBs-Character-Record-Sheet).

The syntax for the code is found on my GitHub as well (https://github.com/morepurplemorebetter/MPMBs-Character-Record-Sheet/tree/master/additional%20content%20syntax), and can also be accessed on Dropbox (http://flapkan.com/mpmb/syntax).

I recommend using the GitHub. In the _variables folder you can find all the class JSON objects as they are used by the sheet. Just look for an entry that reads "calcChanges : {" for an example of something that changes the attack calculations.

Note that you can find the above links in the "Add Custom Script"-dialogue as well.

I can't believe I didn't notice this til now O_O Under "Ability Save DC," it says "Profiency Bonus," rather than "Proficiency Bonus" -- Missing a C in there.

Please see screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/jppnY

Also -- Is it possible to get non-weapon bonuses added automatically? E.g. In my case, I have a Pact of the Rod Keeper +2 (Warlock attuned). It gives my character +2 Spell DC and +2 Spell Attack Bonus when equipped/held. I'm currently adding these two bonuses via mod/blue text. Note that I do have the Rod in my active weapon list; it just isn't an option on the dropdown (No named/enchanted rods/staves are). Thanks!

Wow, I (and many others) must have overlooked that typo very often! I will make sure to fix it in the next version. Thank you for reporting this bug!

The sheet offers no automation for magic items at the moment. Adding "Rod of the Pact Keeper +2" to the weapons, equipment, or magic item section will trigger no automation. You will have to add any modifiers it gives yourself. The easiest way to do that, for something that changes all your spell DCs and attack modifiers, is by adding the +2 to the modifiers on the spell sheet pages. Because modifiers add to a spellcasting class like that will also be used in the attack section.

I'm curious why you would expect something like a Rod of the Pact Keeper to be in the weapon options, as it is neither a weapon nor something to attack with?

When my character received a Wand of the War Mage +1, I simply coded all of the attacks in the Attack section as +1; for example, Shocking Grasp +1, which causes the sheet to add the 1 to attack and damage rolls automatically. Is there a way to code the spell sheets to show this? I don't see a way to change anything on the spell sheets aside from selecting a different stat to use for spells.

You can use the Modifier fields to change the Spell Save DC and/or the Spell Attack Modifier. These modifier fields are hidden by default, but you can toggle their visibility with the "Mods" button in the 'JavaScript Window' or the "Modifiers" bookmark.

Since v12.95, the sheet automatically adds any bonus that you have set on the Spell Sheet page to cantrips of that class that you put in the Attacks section. But only for the cantrips that you have actually chosen with that class. So if you add a +1 bonus on the spell sheet, you might want to remove the bonus from the attack section or you will end up with a +2 instead of just a +1.

PS: I added the Rod's +2 mod to the DC/SAB on the spell sheet, and, while it auto-updates the weapon/attack list, it does not update the *ahem* Profiency Bonus ;) indicator. That is still moddable on its own, however.

I'm not sure what you mean with "the *ahem* Profiency Bonus ;) indicator". Do you mean the circle with dragon head on the first page where it says Proficiency Bonus? Because that is you overall proficiency bonus as it is applied to anything you are proficient with, such as saves, weapons, skills, etc. A +2 rod only changes your DC and spell attack modifier, not all the other stuff.

Can it be coded to eliminate the racial feats which you don't qualify for? (For example, as a human, I can pick the Dragon Fear feat, which shouldn't be possible.)

In addition, when selecting the spells for the latest version of the Favored Soul Sorcerous Origin, the sheet is allowing me to choose from Cleric cantrips. The Favored Soul's spell selection including Cleric spells only applies to first level and higher spells, unless I misread the subclass in the article.

Thank you for the review!

It is unfortunately not a practical solution to limit the drop-down box to only the feats for which the character meets the prerequisite, because that would cause the feat section to constantly reset itself.

But I still like the idea of incorporating the requirements for feats a bit better than they currently are (which is just in the tooltips of the feat description field). I will make the sheet give a pop-up dialogue whenever you select a feat for which you don't meet the prerequisites, reminding you about it, and giving you an option to ignore it.

Morepurplemorebetter as always a great job!
With all the just released UA!!

Other than the handaxe bug reported to you by Juan H, I found another little thing: in the Goliath's "Mountain Born" description, in metric system, is written "including elevations above 6 m.", it should be "above 6.000 m.".

Also, but it may be wanted by you, now the "Limited Features" appear only if the level is set on 1 or more. If the level is left empty (as when just chosen the race), the Limited Features remains without features (breath weapon for Dragonborn, Stone Endurance for Goliath, etc.).

Thanks again for your great sheets! ;)

Thank you for the review!

And thank you for reporting the bug with Goliath under the metric system. The sheet is interpreting the comma as a decimal separator as it doesn't support using thousands separators for converting to metric. I will make sure to fix this in the next version by writing it as 20000 ft and 6000 m instead.

The racial features updating only once you enter a level is intentional.

Is there a way so that, if all the U.A. are chosen, only the last "subclasses" is considered?
The last subclass I mean the one from the last UA by date? :D

Matt W. reported this same bug, three comments below. I will repeat what I said there:

You are correct, the sheet doesn't actually do what it advertises as I made a tiny mistake. It doesn't take the newest version of any subclass, it takes the first one it finds (which, ironically, is always the oldest version). I will fix this in the next version of the sheet. Thank you for reporting this bug.

To use the Unearthed Arcana: Revised Subclasses version of the Arcane Archer, just make sure you exclude the source that provided the other version of Arcane Archer (2016/12/05 Unearthed Arcana: Fighter Martial Archetypes [UA:FMA]).

Hello, i love your Character Sheets, but with V12.98 i can´t assign a handaxe in the weapons, and cannot add the weapons to the equipment tab, thanks.

Thank you for reporting this bug. With the addition of the Wuxia names for weapons I changed some things around and accidentally made it so that any 'axe' is only recognized when the word 'axe' is separate. I will make sure to correct this in the next version. Thank you for reporting this bug.

Until that time, you can use handaxe and battleaxe by writing 'axe' as its own word. For example: "axe, hand", "hand-axe", "hand axe", "axe, battle", etc.

This is just you, I think, because I have no issue downloading. Are you having this issue with a particular file, or with all files on DMs Guild? Whatever it is, it sounds like it is an issue with the DMs Guild website and not my title especially. I recommend contacting DMs Guild support (http://www.dmsguild.com/contact_us.php).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
