Spirits in Phlan are high in the wake of Vorgansharax’s defeat. Reconstruction plans are finally in motion, yet one threat looms.

The Doomguide of Kelemvor has descended into the shadows of the necropolis and gathers dark forces around him. There is little he won’t anticipate. One should have their affairs in order before accepting this mission.

Why isn't Greg Marks listed as the author?

I think because BMG uploaded it.

I'm curious—because it hasn't prevented other BMG modules to list the author. It's important for writers to not be marginalized by the organizations that work with them (even if it's a fairly benign issue like this).

Not ready to review it yet, because I haven't run it, but as of November 2018 it needs a proofread and edit.
"Adventure Background" and "Adventure Overview" currently repeat the exact same text (complete with unnecessary Jeannette Winterson quote), and Doomguide Yovir Glandon (see for example DDEX1-03 "Shadows Over The Moonsea", by the same author) has somehow become "Yorvir" with an extra R.

That said, I like Greg Marks' Phlan adventures and I look forward to running this one.

I think this was an amazing adventure. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just talk about how I felt about the various aspects of the adventure.

Exploration - In terms of exploration, it was better than most. It was linear in the sense that you had to eventually get to the villain, but also allowed for the freedom of exploration at certain points.

Combat - In terms of combat, it was definitely very tough! I had a party of 7 and in some fights, I got them down to half dead/unconscious. The final fight requires a bit of inventiveness, but when you make it a bit tougher, definitely worth it. Make sure you get clever with some of the monsters and you can do some fun/dangerous things that will keep your players on their toes. I did find the DCs of the monsters a bit low (such that it was almost impossible for my party to fail certain saves. Maybe up those a bit to make the fights a little more scary.

Social - In terms of social interactions, there was ample amounts. Players...See more

Deep underground is a place of freightening undeath, a chill in the stale air and creatures jealous of your life. Will you survive delving into these places or join those in undeath?
This adventure sets up a fearful location and delivers in spades as you explore a dark gothic setting. This is a dark creepy mod and the descriptions and pacing worth together perfectly to keep the suspence at the right levels, slowly building to a final confrontation with the fallen Vampire Paladin.
Characters:
The Clerics of Kelemvor offer a great deal of ongoing entertainment as the player travel through the entire necropolis with these three to help. But they're more then just hangers on as the plot thickens...
Yorvir Glandon stands stoic and tragic, waiting, knowing, brooding as only a vampire broods.
Combat:
The Necropolis. A name like that and you know there are things down here that will kill you, unless you kill them first. Many terrifying...See more

The previews show no maps or artwork. Are there any of either included in this? How many pages is it? Are there any new NPCs, mechanics or anything else?

I have do take slight issue with the "4 hour" as listed.
I ran a group of 4 (experienced players) through it last night, and it took us 4 hours to hit the end of Part 3.
We had to postpone part 4 until another day. The party had very little role-play.

With the last part upcoming, I would have to think that 6 hours is more in-line of the actual timeframe.
On a positive note, the four players really loved what they have come across in this module (so far)!

Question about the "Delay Track". Am I assuming it is cumulative? As you have 1 monster at a higher Delay Track value and 2 of the same monster at a lower Delay Track value. Unless I have misunderstood how the Delay Track works. I am trying to be vague, as not to give the surprise away.

Can I ask if these adventures count for DM Quests like "Dedicated DM" and the like?

They do not. That is a D&D AL Admin decisions not a lowly Baldman Games decision. Sorry

Hey Jackin, the changes to stat blocks in the sidebars vs. in the stat block is a mandate from WOTC. CCC content may NOT ever change a written stat block from what's written in the original published book. If there is a story or environmental change (such as in this case), it is required (by WOTC) to be in a sidebar in the adventure text. So as much as I would have liked to, this isn't a change that we are allowed. You see similar things in the other BMG adventures.

Could you just create a new creature? A Phlan Vampire or a named vampire so that you could then give them unique stats?

Since the CCCs adventures are not closely checked over by WOTC staff, the creation of new creatures are not allowed in CCC adventures like they might otherwise be in a DDAL adventure.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
