D&D 5e Quick-Rules and Player Cheat-Sheet

ADD TO WISHLIST >

This is a two page (one sheet, double sided) D&D 5e Quick Rules Reference and Player Cheat Sheet!

It is a landscape, "placemat" style format which features a Quick-Rules reference on one side and a Player Cheat-Sheet on the other!

It was designed with a size and scope to be a more complete and accurate quick-reference guide, while still maintaining a simple, rules-at-a-glance functionality.

It comes in both a standard (US) version and a Metric Converted (World) version.

The US version is formatted for 11 x 17, "tabloid" paper size.

A four page (two sheets, double sided) 8 1/2 x 11, "letter" size portrait version is also included.

The World version is formatted for A3, ISO paper size.

A four page (two sheet, double sided) A4 size portrait version is also included.

All 4 versions are available in Plain and Colorful variants.

The World versions feature the 5th edition Players Handbook rules converted to a metric standard, including game mechanics, tables with metric converted figures and convenient imperial-to-metric conversion guides. These are not straight, scientific conversions, but rather (following the example set by Wizards of the Coast), a balance between accuracy and nice, round figures that are easy to work with (and easy to play with!).

All this for just $1.00!

*Note on printing: The best way to use this product is the larger, "placemat" style, printed on 80 lb (540gsm) paper or better. I know, that for most of you, this will mean a trip to the print shop, but trust me, it's worth it! Have them print using, "long edge alignment" or, "long edge binding" so that the back side prints, "up-side-down". This will make it much easier to flip between the two sides. Also, look for a print shop that offers menus and placemats for small restaurants. They should have low minimum order numbers and will offer a heavy-duty lamination (or, better yet, synthetic paper) to make them 100% spill proof so your Quick-Rules / Player Cheat-Sheet will last for years!

Hello,

This is a great sheet - unfortunately, I found it by accident while looking into the sheet posted here, which is the exact same: http://www.geekdayton.com/rpg/5e-reference-sheet/

I believe yours was created well before this blogpost was ever made, but as you can see in the body, the poster is claiming the work as his own original design. Plagiarism is a terrible thing, and even sadder in this case since you provide yours effectively for free.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! It's such an odd feeling; being flattered and outraged at the same time. I've been in contact with OneBookShelf's (parent company of DMs Guild) Director of Publishing & Marketing, Matt McElroy, and the lead editor of GeekDayton, Doug Patton, who has removed the post and is working on a new one, crediting me as the creator. Like the plagiarist Todd Mittlestead wrote, "quick reference sheets are found in multiple variations all over the Internet." I was inspired to create my own after purchasing Sean Wickett's 'Cheet Sheet', right here, on the DMs Guild. Although very good, I found it slightly lacking for my personal needs and decided to create my own quick-reference, for personal use. However, I started from scratch, put a lot of thought and effort in, and ended up with something of which I felt proud enough to share with the world. Since Sean and I were summarizing the same rule set, our products were naturally going to be similar, but I never...See more

Thanks Sean, your work inspired it!
Check out the requested additions form the anonymous purchaser below; they would make a useful product for those who use minis heavily.

Hello! Is it possible to add minis and battlemat play rules?

Some of the following info:
1. Under the DMG Page 249 is it possible to add something like "CREATURE SIZE ON SQUARES AND HEXES" picture
2. DMG Page 250-251 there is a picture of miniature cover on hexes and flanking so something like that
3. I would love to see how the different areas of effects looks on hexes and squares.
4. If possible I would like the optional Flanking, Diagonals and Facing rules on 250-251

Other:
On DMG PAGE 271-272 is it possible to add the optional Action Options?

Thanks for purchasing! I've looked up the pages you mentioned and I can see how this information would be useful in a minis-heavy game. However, I don't feel it belongs in this document for the following reasons: 1. I specifically avoided using information from the Dungeon Master's Guide, as this was intended as a Payer's quick-reference. 2. As I stated in my response to Joseph D, below, this is a, "quick-rules" guide, not a, "complete-rules" guide. Space is limited (I've already gone to the 11'x17' format) and more basic, universal material, would have to be sacrificed to include all of these, more specific, rules. 3. With regards to areas of effect, the way they look on hexes or squares would change depending on the measurements listed in each spell's description, but I suppose those graphics could be updated. You've also started me thinking about incorporating graphics into my, 'Creature Size' segment and you have definitely opened my eyes to the possibility of creating a separate, new document,...See more

Hi...thanks for putting this together, but I just wanted to point out that you have an error on page 2 under Your Turn: "Take 1 Reaction on someone else's turn, if applicable." Pg. 190 in the PHB, under Reactions states: "A reaction is an instant response to a trigger of some kind, which can occur on your turn or on someone else's."

Good catch! I missed that detail, probably because it's almost impossible to take a reaction on your own turn; the key word there being, 'almost'. I'll admit, I hurt my brain a little just trying to think of a way it could happen, but under just the right circumstances, it can. Since reading your comment, I've spent days debating whether I should update this product or not. After all, it is a, 'quick-rules' guide and not a, 'complete-rules' guide. Right now, I feel that this rare circumstance is best left to the DM to adjudicate, rather than over complicate a document with a level of detail beyond it's original intent. However, there will likely be a revamped version at some point in the future. If you, or anyone else, wants to leave a comment here stating anything you would like included (or left out), I will reconsider this and other suggestions at that time. Thanks so much for buying and I hope this answer is satisfactory.

So, literally two hours after posting this reply, I encountered yet another way a reaction could be taken on one's own turn (hint: it has to do with sorcery points). I started thinking, "Joseph was right, I need to start work on that revision now" until... In the latest episode of Acquisitions Incorporated: The Series (Episode 08, July 27th, 2016), at the 30 minutes and 35 seconds mark, Dungeon Master Chris Perkins makes the following statement: "A reaction is something you can't do on your turn." followed by this: "You do it in response to something that happens on somebody else’s turn." I thought that I might send this to Sage Advice, but a quick search revealed the following from a previous Jeremy Crawford article: "Can you also cast a reaction spell on your turn? You sure can!" and he gives an example. The intent is that a reaction is in response to a trigger and has nothing to do with when that trigger occurs. However, this is less than clear to more people than just...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
