Witch Class (5e)

Suggested Price $0.50

A new core class magic user that specializes in non-direct damage based spells and use of animal familiars called Spirit Kin. The witch is a natural spellcaster who derives her power from an unknown patron at creation, someone who has seen the witch's talents and seeks to use them. I am playing your Witch, like the class, but I think it requires some clarification in some areas:

Let us start with the Spirit Kin:
As it is only limited by hit dice equal to your level and being a beast it means you can have a T-rex as spirit kin later in the game. I think you should clarify also a size limit. That the creature can be only choose size(Large, Medium, Small etc.) and smaller. Like it is fine if you make it a little bigger then the wizard familiar and go with medium or large, but T-rex is a little much. I know you included DM's discretion what the spirit kin can be, but some mantinels are needed.

Also it is not said that if the spirit kin casts a spell the Witch cannot cast one as well, so from that it basically means she can cast two spells per round, only few times, because the spirit kin has limited spell slots, but she can. I think it is a nice trade-off for not having almost any DMG spells, but maybe you should specifically say it in the...See more

also forgot: You should add Xanathar spells into the spell list.

I'm a little confused for the spiral dance. It can only recover up to a quarter of her level rounded down of spell slots? So it would be useless until she is level 4, as there is no need to recover cantrip spell slots (as they are non-existent). Am I reading that correctly?

Nicely done class. Interestingly, I think that, with just a reflavoring of the grimoire, one could re-label the class a Spirit Shaman and it would work fine in that context as well.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
