The mists have led you deep into Glumpen Swamp to a den of great evil. Within, the unliving son of an unliving god awaits the peace of death that eternally eludes him. Will you grant him his rest, or realize the part he is to play in things to come?

Part Seven of Misty Fortunes and Absent Hearts.

A Four-Hour adventure for 5th-10th level characters

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

This module was decent but failed at its potential. The initial storyline is far too complex. However, if you can simplify the story, this module flows pretty well. There's more combat in this module compared to other Ravenloft modules, and not as much RP opportunity. Also, something about this storyline didn't seem fitting for Ravenloft. Orcs (explained in another module about how they got to Barovia) seemed very out of place, as did the Yaun-Ti in Barovia.

I cannot agree more with what this person is saying. Worst of all is the editing, truly shocking, but the whole of season 4 has been shoddy to say the least. As a massive Ravenloft fan I find this most disappointing. It has taken all of my (considerable) years of DMing experience to make it even playable at times. Please can someone with any clout involved in AL do something about this to save the game we have all loved playing for years before this tardiness set in.

Thanks Paul, it's good to know someone out there agrees with me. As for doing something about it, if the past 4-years are any indication the only thing you can hope for is that the next season is better. As I've stated a couple of times there is no effort from the AL staff, and little effort from the authors, to go back and correct anything that as already been posted for sale. Why should they, as they already have your (and conventions that want to attract attendance) money. As for next season being better ... it's anyone's guess as to if that is going to happen. The only way I can see to do something about it is to protest with your pocketbook. I just saw that they are reviving Living Arcanis as a 5E campaign. I think I'm going to suggest this to the convention organizers I know who are just as disappointed in AL as I am, and give it a try myself. The 3E version was very popular during the advent of the d20 OGL, and frankly it can't be worse. CNW

Since there is no way to amend a review, and no forum to post to, I'll put this here for consumption. My two-star review of The Innocent will be my last review of Adventurer's League events at this time. I can no longer in good conscience continue to waste my money on these events. Outside of the occasional gem in a goat's a55, the majority of these events are nearly unplayable as they are written. Frankly, I'm not sure who is to blame - the writers for being underqualified, editors who do not care, or coordinators who have no idea how to craft a story from beginning to end. If it weren't for talented DM's across the world turning these events into something playable, AL would have flat out failed long ago.

From what I can tell this has been going on for four years now to some extent, and I refuse to support an organization that blatantly cares nothing for the quality of products they put out. This is also exasperated by the fact that now we, the gaming populace, need to pay money for adventures that...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
