The Witch is a new support spellcaster which uses warlock style spellcasting with a new Incantation mechanic to allow two concentration spells to be maintained simultaneously. Three archetypes are included.

4/23: A 1 year anniversary for my witch, and the class has received a major overhaul! I've learned a lot on homebrewing in the past year and put it to work here.

The Prophecy mechanic has been simplified and made more thematic. It now works much more elagantly when blending with incantantion spells. Incantation feature is still complex but I cleaned up the language as much as possible while trying to avoid any unexpected rules loopholes. All three archetypes have been reworked to compliment their intended playstyles. Finally, the Brew Potion ability (formerly belonging only to Traditionalist archetypes) has been made base, to provide variety in actions available to the witch while they maintain an incantation in combat.

I've kept the old version available at https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9WNgn6ItB8Q0pOSkJLRzgxc3M

Thank you for all your interest!

I love this Witch Class. I have been looking through several and this is one of my favorites. A couple of suggestions though.
1. Where is the familiar? I know you can pick up the spell but it seems like it should be a freebie for all witches.
2. The use of Open Yet Unbroken feels weird with the 1 minute restriction. I think what you are trying to accomplish here is a once per combat kind of thing. Maybe say once per initiative roll or something similar? Its just no other ability has this kind of availability/restriction so maybe it needs to be redone to fit other abilities standards?
3. Fortelling is cool but the wording needs improvement. I would say "during a long rest you may cast the divination spell without expending a spell slot or components and this does not effect the results of your rest."
4. Certain Fate seems a little OP. Being that it grants the ability for 24 hours and you can't do it again till a long rest, chances are you will always have this up. Sure there are...See more

Thank you so much for the feedback, I hope you enjoy the class in play!
1. I can't say I disagree with the familiar. The choice to have it as an option (via the spell list) was partially to intentionally break with trope. This way players who want the familiar can feel satisfied for having chosen the spell, but those who go without the traditional pet aren't at any disadvantage. This said, I totally agree with a DM's choice to give it for free. :)
2. You're exactly right about the intention of "Open Yet Unbroken" to be a once per encounter style feature, and this is an awesome suggestion that I'll put in the next update. Thank you!
3. Noted, I'll work on the wording and flavor. I like the idea of the spell "casting" while the caster is asleep.
4. The idea behind Certain Fate was to simulate the rogue's Reliable Talent, but to share with the group. It is also to compliment the Clairvoyant Witch's ability to see what is coming up, and give the boost to a skill she believes...See more

There are four PDF files attached to this, three with identical names. Which is the most recent?

Very sorry for the confusion. I've removed all the older versions and re-uploaded only the most current to be sure. Please re-download and you should see only the current pdf.

Isn't it rather pointlessly redundant to have advantage on a check when you will succeed regardless of the result, as per the Compelled Fate rule? Things like this can be potentially gamebreaking. The delayed answer for a question as per Communal also seems to override the rule, and somewhat cheapens the effect of natural 20s in the gaming system. They're meant to be luck's reward, not deliberate artifice. There is, after all, no guarantee that other mystics would have the answer to a question if asked.

I agree some of the abilities need to be reworked. Those you mentioned were ideas from another creator of the class and could use reworking/rewording. I'll try to come up with something that still offers synergy without being a sure thing, or redundantly redundant. :)

I hope you otherwise got some use from this!

Perhaps make the Communal ability more akin to the Contact Other Plane spell, and limit it to a discipline or sect of learning of some kind. Then, when the question is asked, the response given is limited by the knowledge that the discipline would know, rather than an all-knowing collective of vague entities.

As for Compelled Fate, simply remove the automatic success or treat it like a use of the Reliable Talent skill from the Rogue class (at 10th level they can treat any skill roll of less than a 9 as a 10) which would apply for the next use of the skill, or until the next rest, whichever seemed more balanced.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
