For those creatures availableon DND Beyond, do you have a link or a place where they are gathered? I am curious to see some of them.

in my use of this product i have noticed a few errors

the Barakiel is labeled in it's statblock as challenge rating 0, when it is challenge rating 1/2 everywhere else.

on top of this the bakeneko cat, barakiel, and several other monsters, have armor classes that do not add up, i believe you most likely intended these to have natural armor, but you did not label it as such

Thank for bringing this to my attention. I am mortified. The application I'm using to do these stats blocks sometimes play tricks on me. Still, not an excuse. I have immediately worked on correcting all the Armor Class erratum, or added the mention "natural armor" when appropriate. Documents shall be updated shortly (version 3.0).

On page 15, the porcupine stat block does not say the porcupine's type(we assumed it was a beast). it simply says "Tiny or Small , Unaligned" where it should say "Tiny or Small Beast, Unaligned"

Page 3 appears SUPER blurry to me. The rest is slightly blurry with the occasional line cutoff (see Spectral Panther on pg 18). The book is gorgeous! I think there may be a layer over the rest that causes some anomalies?

Still has this strange blurriness to the text. Are you using images of these text boxes in the layout? It's only the text IN the monster stat blocks. The text under Rabies or in the index are fine.

Hi there, I'm a current user of Fantasy Grounds, and I've been compiling a huge bank of NPCs into a module for the platform. With your permission would it be okay to include these NPCs within said module and release it to forum? Full credit will be given within the NPCs description text as well as a link to this page for contributions towards your work.

Thank you.

Hey so I confess I just downloaded this so I could had some 5e stats for a Cavvekan. This is probably another one where you should change the type from 'monstrosity' to 'beast' since you used the same logic for others.
The other thing that seems off to me, is that the AC should be 13, not 14 with a Dex of 17, right? Unless a creature has "natural armor", you would just calculat 10+Dex modifier. For languages, you should put "None, but can understand its master's language" to speak to the fact that the drow do, in fact train them. Finally, I would consider adding Pact Tactics to them. Although that MAY affect the CR.

Thanks for the comment!
I used monstrosity for the cavvekan cause according to MM, beast is a type reserved for natural animals (animals found in the *real* world) and their giant versions. The cavvekan seemed monstrous enough to classify as a monstrosity.
The AC does involve natural armor plus dex modifier. Should be corrected in next version.
As for understanding a language, I see the cavvekan as having a similar understanding as would a regular dog. To have the mention "understands a language" would mean actually understanding someone's speech, not just a number of words and commands. Did I miss this ability from the earlier edition of the cave dog?
Pact tactics? Perhaps. Are they usually found hunting as pacts?

This deserves another scrub through to make the HD types consistent with the 5th edition creature rules. Many of the creatures have the incorrect HD type for their size. 1d4 for Tiny, 1d6 for Small, 1d8 for Medium, 1d10 for Large, 1d12 for Huge, and 1d20 for Gargantuan. The entries which are listed as potentially two sizes should probably be 2 separate stat blocks since attack damage and hit points change with size. Which may shift the Challenge Ratings.

Thanks for the feedback. I was under the impression the HD type for a particular creature size was a suggestion rather than a hard rule. I will try to revise the stats blocks in a future update (free update when you have already purchased the product).

The creatures are interesting.
The format is hard to see with my old eyes. That gray on off-white is a real squint-inducer.

The updates are a welcome improvement. I'm still having some squinting trouble with the grey on off-white main version, I'd selfishly urge you to pick a different color contrast format, maybe something closer to the MM. The improved white background alternate version 2.1 is definitely better than before. The creatures themselves seem well thought out and I've already used the Cheetah in my home campaign.

I was waiting for the "final version" to rate and/or review.
To answer your question, some art (even if it's stock/clip) is always better than no art. It's a game of imagination, sure, but even the imagination can use a visual nudge once in a while. If I don't like the art you're using, I can always ignore it, but if there's no art at all, it's bland and boring.

Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it! You found odd that I typed the Giant Roadrunner as a monstrosity rather than a beast, and I understand that because I hesitated between the two types. I went for monstrosity because there's no "magical beast" type in 5E, and I envisionned this hommage to the famous cartoon as a wizard experimenting with the normal roadrunner, enlarging it, and giving it speed and immunity to fatigue/exhaustion. Of course, A DM could decide to treat it as a beast found in the ordinary ecology of the world. At any rate, I understand where the questionning comes from and I might add a "Designer's Note" to some creatures in a future update. :)

Scratch that. Having read carefully the type descriptions in the MM, I realize I shouldn't have labelled certain creatures as monstrosities since "beasts" cover both beasts with magical powers and the giant versions of animals. In the next update, the calimshan sandcat, the giant ants, and the giant roadrunner will have the appropriate "beast" type.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
