Crafting the perfect poison is both a science and an art. Knowing which ingredient pairs best with which to deliver a swift death - or a lingering one, if deserved - requires intense study and practice.

Hey guys, gals and everyone in-between, is there books on skills like form some manga's like the gamer where you can incorporate into your game. The reason for this is because when i started reading some mangas i thought why not have my players have a gamer like ability as i want them to base the characters stats on themselves and have these added skills to give buffs or debuffs as well as give them titles for added flavor

Could someone point me to where I can find the supplemental items mentioned in the PDF, the spreadsheet and the video guide? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks

So, I have checked this out, as a Player came to me with it.. It is full of flaws and redundancies. Mainly at the damage.

Starting at CR9 Poison you may choose between 4d6 or 1d12 for damage.. there is no logical reason to take the 1d12. the 4d6 have roughly a 1 in 1296 chance to roll minimum (and maximum) damage. the 1d12 a 1 in 12. Howerver, the Average damage of 4d6 is significantly higher, and even with the odds, the minimum damage is 4x higher than the 1d12. The max damage is also 24 instead of 12.. there is no reason to take the 1d12. It would be better to have it be 6d4 and 3d12. It would accomplish what I believe you are wanting with the Idea you have started here.

There is also no reason to take 3 or 4 d20 over 10 or 11 d10. It is just no reason to take the lower dice number that can roll higher on an individual die.. there is no actual benefit to it, the risks far outweigh the benefits(that are not there either since the max damage is always lower than the one with the more...See more

Hello, thanks for your comment! You are correct if you only look at the base damages, choosing the higher numbered die is silly when compared with the lower die base damage alone. However, if you look at the augment tables, you'll see that the choice of base die can really affect your poison damage if you roll well in the crafting process.

Using your example, if you have a 1d12 augment ingredient and roll to create the poison then roll a 7 on the augment, the two possible damages using the die are 6d6+9 and 3d12+18.

Using anydice.com you can show the distribution outputs of the roll and see that the most common damage output of the 6d6+9 combination is around 30 damage, and that the 3d12+18 max is split between 37 and 38. Also the cumulative distribution of probabilities for the middle damages of the 6d6+9 combo (lets arbitrarily say 25-35 damage) is 62% of the time, while the larger base die offers a much larger probability of hitting a higher number ~91% for damages in the range...See more

Love the simplicity and depth that the system you created has in it. Only thing I would suggest/ask for would be a counter-part with similar rules for creating potions capable of different augmentation effects on the imbiber as well as duplicating the effects of spells.

That would be an interesting system! The creation of potions which are beneficial are much different than that of poisons; if anything this would be included in a separate module as the requirements for that are much different.

I'll think and chew on it, maybe that'll be my next project. Thank you for the idea.

Imagine all the stuff you could do with that! All sorts of different health potions, benefits, etc. I look forward to anything you put out!

Just updated the PDF with some typo corrections and included the "Poisoned" condition on augmentation rolls. I've also added a section on usage of poison with regards to applying to weapons, ammunition, and how to consider valid targets for poisons that compromise immunity.

I've also made some cosmetic changes so it's definitely worth a fresh download for the PDF so you have the most recent copy.

I love this product, I just finished making a fantasy grounds module for it. There is defenetly room it could improve as it has none of the spreadsheet functionality. However it does have a detailed reference manule and summary. I would be happy to send it to you if you are interested. Contact me on Discord or email. thomas.edgerton@gmail.com Logos#8370

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
