Welcome to Christmas in July! For the rest of July, this digital title has been marked down by 25%! For more values, visit our Christmas in July sale page.

Do your players have the wool to survive?

Adventure, danger and a decent dose of downright weirdness erupt when the party’s attempt to grab a rare afternoon of downtime is interrupted by a frantic sheep equipped with a Scroll of Speak to Animals. Soon they are dragged into a magical grudge match that will test their strength, courage and willingness to endure extremely baa’d puns.

Will our heroes be able to overcome a band of transmuted assassins on the hunt for a mutton dinner and fend off an extremely bitter ex-apprentice packing a dangerously unstable magic item?

There’s only one way to find out…

A free single-session adventure

The Wild Sheep Chase is designed to be played from start to finish in just one 3-6 hour session with limited preparation from the DM.

All major characters have roleplaying notes included and the document comes complete with a full-size environmen.

Awesome little adventure! I converted it for use on Fantasy Grounds. Since you provided it for free I was wondering if I can distribute the conversion for free as well. Please contact me at temmpest@cox.net. Thank you!

Ran this one-shot with three experienced players at 5th level and they had a great time playing through it. It's a simple adventure with two combat encounters and one (kind of) mini-dungeon, but the craziness of the premise and the creative encounters make it a really enjoyable adventure to both play and run.

Hey, I'm running this adventure for my group and it's been great so far. I'll write a proper review when we actually finish it, but in the meantime, how do I find more adventures/whatever written by the same people? Clicking on the "From" link below the title doesn't bring anything else up.

How do I give you money?!

I love the premise, but at the risk of seeming dense, I don't really see what the puns are. Is it to do with how I pronounce "Ahmed Noke"? It seems like a fun adventure though, I'm going to run it for a pair of players next week. I just want to make sure I hit the appropriate humor notes.

Running this today with 3 level 5s. I added a few things and spiced up some history. Also made a few props for the final tower so we'll see how this goes! Thanks for the great module
Gotta thank Barrett B too. Watched his YouTube to gain some insight and he ran a session which is exactly the approach I was looking for to introduce some people to d&d

This was delightful! My adventurers loved it. They especially loved the Tower: "can't we just stay here?" The puns were met with groans and laughter. The pace was pretty quick. It made for a fun evening. Thank you!

Hello! Do you have a template for the format of this adventure? It's amazingly formatted and as a fellow dm I would love to compile my adventures in this format as well.

This was a really fun one-shot for a group of semi-new and totally new players (I gave them pre-rolled level three characters and that seemed to be a good match). Nice mix of fights, a little bit of RPG, and humor.

I was holy unprepared that my usually very serious and stern players would run with this premise in the most ridiculous fashion. This story has a lot of space to play, great writing and a fun little bed/dragon that impressed everyone at the table. Though, my players were rather unconvinced by the plot hook, which in the end lead to them bargaining with Noke to keep the sheep as a pet instead of helping and another player becoming polymorphed so that he may "live out his day amongst the furries." Good times for all.

I kind of feel like a moron, but when I first read the adventure, I didn't realize that when the opening encounter refers to the cloaked figure as a "polymorphed brown bear," it meant that it was a man who had been polymorphed into a brown bear. Instead, I thought it was the reverse, and it was only as I was in the middle of running the encounter that it struck me. I think it might be worth clarifying the language to make sure other DMs don't make the same mistake.

It worked well when ran for 4 but if your willing to scale bits of it i would imagine it would work for more or less players

Question: Do Noke's polymorphed gang of baddies revert to their human(?) forms when their animal form gets to 0 just like in description of the spell?
So they get to fight on in their normal forms after reverting?

Nevermind, got the answer.
They are True Polymorphe'd so when they get to 0 they are done.

I ran this for a group of three 4th level PCs, and I realized that I should have nerfed the bed dragon wyrmling's breath weapon a little. Since the adventurers were all standing within 50 feet of each other, they were all taken out in one shot by the wyrmling's splinter breath (including the guy who made his saving throw). In the interest of not killing the characters, I decided to have Noke ride off toward town where the party had left Guz tied up. At least this way, they can take a short rest before he returns, and hopefully, the wyrmling's splinter breath won't recharge.

Had a great time with this one. We ran this as a 1 shot adventure for our Extra Life Marathon. If you'd like to check it out here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNhbLsjbSuU

Also maps looked great on the table and the bed dragon was hilarious: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byqga34qMocTaGg1Wkp3RkZXVnM/view?usp=sharing

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
