Cast in shadows under the clouded radiance of the moonlight, a lone Dragonborn sits atop a greyed stone altar among white pillars. Rain gently falls through the air, caressing the surrounding stone and just barely missing her body as it strikes a silver radiance surrounding her. The radiance expands as she breathes in, pushing the rain further away, and her eyes open slowly as she stares into the distance. Her sword hums when she grasps it, and a moment later she seems to disappear within the time of a blink.

The flickering of candles across the room shed a dancing light over the face of a young Human; expression twisted in frustration as he drags a dagger through the air. Soft, faintly pulsating threads of light twist together to form floating sigils that join the ones orbiting his form as he mumbles under his breath. Suddenly, a book hurtles through the air towards his head and is stopped by one of the floating sigils. As it falls from the air, the young man quickly catches it and starts flipping through the pages, seemingly searching for something. A figure by the door watches this with crossed arms and steps away.

Swords clash in the midst of combat, an armored Genasi braces against a snarling Orc's sword. From the corner of her eye she notices one of her group stabbing another Orc through the back. As the Orc seems to stiffen, seemingly struggling, the Genasi clenches her fist and the struggling orc suddenly pales as he crumples to the ground. A feral smile stretches over the Genasi's face as she pushes her hand up onto the face of the orc in front of her. Black veins and striations stretch over his face, his eyes roll into the back of his head, and he slumps to his knees in front of her.

Arcaneswords begin their training under a master of the same skill, one who teaches them not to use sword with magic or magic with sword, but the purest fusion of the two. For an Arcanesword, the sword is their magic, magic is their sword, and both are also themselves. The battlefield is the mirror through which all Arcaneswords seek the answer to their reality.

Edit 11/17:
-The Sword Kaiser spell has been adjusted to limit the damage adjustments to only weapon attacks to prevent use with the Spell Sword feature.
-The Sword Soul feature has been adjusted so that the shield bonus outright states a limitation on free hand manipulation to prevent over use of the free hand.

Edit 12/18:
-The spells list was expanded slightly to include two 5th level spells, one 7th level spell, and one 9th level spell from Xanathar's Guide to Everything. As normal, you would require the original WoTC books to acquire the exact spell information as this document only includes the spell names for spells I have not personally made.

Please leave a review of the Arcanesword class, especially of your experience using it if you do end up running a character with it. I am working on more content and am open minded about thematic requests for future race or class options.

A special word on this class. Not only was it expertly balanced and lovingly crafted by a brilliant young man that I was happy to call my friend, it was played well for a one-shot and would be a great addition for any one's campaign to have.

Nate passed away on February 4 2018, early in the morning. He was happy to have gotten great feedback here and on Facebook and Twitter from people who read his homebrews, and pleased that anyone would purchase them when they didn't have to. I would hope these stick around for a long time here, and that his hard work and labors of love are enjoyed by and inspiring to other homebrewers.

Much love,
Charlie

A homebrew he had just finished, but didn't get a chance to publish here. He was very proud of it: http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/ByWdkLpUUM

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
