5E ACTIONS BY CLASS (REFERENCE SHEETS)

EACH CLASS IN THE PHB HAS ITS OWN ACTIONS - BONUS ACTIONS - REACTIONS REFERENCE SHEET

There are also two versions of the "general" (non-class specific) action sheet.

All sheets include combat actions found in the Dungeon Master's Guide.

The purpose of these "action sheets" is to facilitate combat decisions and speed up game play. A player should be ready when its turn comes up to resolve actions chosen at the start of round.

Shaded boxes: Dark shaded actions and reactions are regular class actions. Lightly shaded actions and reactions are either customizable class features or thematically appropriate actions for a given class (i.e. suggestions).

Ranger:  There are two ranger sheets: the default PHB class and the revised ranger class published as part of the Unearthed Arcana (UA) playtest material.  The accompanying Beast Companion sheet uses the UA beast companion class features.

Customizable blank spaces can be manually filled for missing actions, bonus actions, or reactions granted by class, archetype, race, feat, spell, or other game feature.

(Please note: Print quality is much better than what is shown in the previews. For example, thickness of lines do not vary as much as what appears in the automated previews.)

CHANGE LOG: 2016-12-20 22:00  Added: bonus page (separate document) PHB options only

HOW TO USE THESE SHEETS (SUGGESTIONS)

1. Print & laminate sheets (plastic lamination) at a local office supply store.

2. Use dry erase pen to fill in regular features (e.g. archetype, speed, number of attacks, etc.); fill blank spaces for additional actions, bonus actions and reactions (e.g. racial feature, feat, or class feature not already included)

3. At the start of each round, the DM asks the players to mark with a dry eraser pen which action and/or bonus action (if any) they intend their character to take on their turn. I suggest a 30 seconds reflection time. During that time, players are given a few seconds to speak in character.

4. A player uses the “Spell”/”Other” box to write down spell name, feat or other feature it plans to use on its turn

5. On your turn, resolve chosen action and bonus action. If hesitating, it is suggested to take the “default” Dodge action.

6. PLAYER: at the end of your turn, erase marked actions if you plan to use new ones on the next round

7. If you use a reaction, mark it with a or a X until the start of your next turn. You can only take one reaction per round.

8. Repeat steps 3-7 each round

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
