Dungeon Master's Familiar

Suggested Price $1.00

This is a tool for recording the player character information that you, the dungeon master, use most frequently at the table. It is designed to allow a smoother flow of play at the table, by giving you a quick summary of necessary character information.

You no longer need to keep asking players (or squinting at tipped over table tents) about: passive perception, what languages, or what skills are in the party. At a glance you know without alerting all the players. No more tipping off the players with Meta-game questions.

Now includes a second page for character ability scores and a free form area for magic items or other thing you need to know!

Also includes is a sheet for session notes.

I met the author at GenCon back in 2015 and he had a Beta version of this he was using then and I quickly stole it and was more than happy to use the updated version. I used it in every slot I DMed at Origins, I use it in all of my AL games every week when I have new players, its just a great resource.

If I had ONE thing to add it would be an area for relevant magic items, say for instance a weapon of warning is good to know, or if an item is always producing light, etc. etc.. So under the PC area I usually have them use that space and then just keep the section on class skills bubbled in.

Overall fantastic work

I hope it's ok that I have included part of this in my custom DM screen images because of how helpful I found it. I have of course credited and linked.

This will definitely come in handy. Though it would be nice if it also came in a form-fillable PDF version, as I tend to use a laptop with book PDFs and campaign notes in text documents.

I think this will be pretty useful. I just wish that there was a box for AC and HP.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
