Having said your farewell to those who serve your place of birth together with you, you check your equipment one more time, as you prepare yourselves for the trip to free your companion’s father. As you make your way to the door of the inn, seemingly random questions pop into your minds, “Are you carrying everything you need, or will you ever be sufficiently prepared for what is to come?” and “Did what happen to him occur because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time, or is there a larger wicked scheme at work?”

*****

Thanks to all who have downloaded the 1st adventure (The Withered Rose), the 2nd adventure (The Parched Moss) and the 3rd adventure (The Budding Snowdrop) that I wrote. This is the 4th and concluding adventure of the Lost Love saga, which is meant for first tier (1st to 4th level) adventurers.

I hope that you will enjoy having this adventure as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I have made this item Pay What You Want, in the hope that it better meets your needs. In return, I would like to ask that you leave your review, so that I can improve my future attempts, based on your feedback. Thanks in advance.

Going forward, I will continue writing a series of related adventures for 3-5 PC adventurers, each time introducing different game mechanics, so that they will become familiar with Dungeons & Dragons. This will be a different saga, meant for second tier (5th to 10th level) adventurers, but with the same NPC adventurer(s). Hint, hint!

PS: Thanks for all your support. The 1st adventure of the Lost Innocence saga, The Flickering Spark, has been released!

The adventures of the Lost Love saga include:

  1. The Withered Rose (Best Seller: Copper)
  2. The Parched Moss
  3. The Budding Snowdrop
  4. The Blooming Thyme

The adventures of the Lost Innocence saga include:

  1. The Flickering Spark

2017-04-28: Version 1 released. A party of 3 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 22,722-23,796 XP, 4 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 25,051-25,161 XP, and 5 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 25,228-30,661 XP. This is based on the assumption that the Dungeon Master only gives the adventurers 3-5 random encounters in Part 1 and 6 in Part 2. If gold does not award XP in your campaign, they will then get 18,300-19,020 XP, 19,620-19,850 XP and 20,025-25,120 XP respectively. This is sufficient to get them to 5th level, without bringing them to 6th level, unless they have had a previous adventure elsewhere.

2017-05-08: Version 2 released. Added an ending remark on how to proceed to the new saga, and updated the Appendix.

2017-08-13: Version 3 released. Minor errors corrected in the Appendix, according to the Monster Manual errata.

What an amazing ending, almost kinda sad that it's over already. I love how in this all the choices you ever made throughout the saga come back to test your luck, truly amazing. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
