Tired after a long journey, you are about to sit down for your well-deserved dinner, when a familiar face shows up at your table. You know why she asks you to do her a favor, but you wonder if you are ready for the task. “Since when does the prey chase the predator?”

*****

Thanks to all who have downloaded the 1st adventure that I wrote (The Withered Rose). This is the 2nd adventure of the Lost Love saga. I intend to write a series of related adventures for 3-5 PC adventurers, each time introducing different game mechanics, so that they will become familiar with Dungeons & Dragons.

I hope that you will enjoy having this adventure as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I have made this item Pay What You Want, instead of asking for a fixed amount. Hopefully, this better meets your needs. In return, I would like to ask that you leave your review, so that I can improve my future attempts, based on your feedback. Thanks in advance.

Special thanks to Mr Jackson Persyn for his comment. I have not included many links from the previous adventure (The Withered Rose) to this adventure, because I want to focus on the motivation of the NPC adventurer in this adventure, and give her some time to grow to be an equal companion to the PC adventurers. I have built the linking mechanisms into the next adventure.

The adventures of the Lost Love saga include:

  1. The Withered Rose (Best Seller: Copper)
  2. The Parched Moss
  3. The Budding Snowdrop
  4. The Blooming Thyme

The adventures of the Lost Innocence saga include:

  1. The Flickering Spark

Version History:

2017-03-19: Version 1 released. A party of 3 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2626-3939 XP, 4 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2728-4939 XP, and 5 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2779-4939 XP. This is based on the assumption that the Dungeon Master only gives the adventurers 5 random encounters in Part 1. If gold does not award XP in your campaign, they will then get 1710-2940 XP, 1810-3940 XP and 1860-3940 XP respectively. This is sufficient to get them to 3rd level, without bringing them to 4th level, unless they have had a previous adventure elsewhere.

2017-03-27: Version 2 released. Minor errors corrected. I also made this item Pay What You Want, instead of asking for a fixed $0.50. Hopefully, this better meets your needs. In return, I would like to ask that you leave your review, so that I can improve my future attempts, based on your feedback. Thanks in advance.

2017-03-31: Version 3 released. Minor errors corrected. A party of 3 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2686-4089 XP, 4 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2788-5089 XP, and 5 PC (and 1 NPC) adventurers will get 2839-5089 XP.

2017-04-09: Version 4 released. Minor errors corrected. The biggest change is in the NPC adventurer profile.

2017-04-11: Version 5 released. Minor errors corrected. The biggest change is in the NPC adventurer profile (again).

2017-04-28: Version 6 released. Minor errors corrected. The biggest changes are in the Appendix.

A very good campaign. Kinda wished they did a thing where depending on the action that happened in the last campaign (the withered rose) would affect what happened in this campaign. But it's whatever and I'm glad there is a second part and I cannot wai [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
