33 Cursed and Enchanted Items

These 33 items (originally only 31, but advertised as 32 because I apparently can't count) will spice up your gaming experience, after all, who doesn't want to wear boots that smell like pee all the time?! That's right, these are the perfect items for the tricky DMs and the looney characters. Many were created simply by removing a letter from the name of pre-existing items. Here's a few examples of what you will find inside:

Tuneless Fork: Cursed tuning fork

This tuning fork can’t carry a tune to save its life, which means that any performer that uses this fork to tune their instrument or voice will also be unable to carry a tune to save their life.

Curse: -2 to performance checks if you were the last person to touch the Tuneless Fork with your bare skin.

Amulet of the Town Crier: Cursed Amulet

Loudly does this amulet proclaim your deeds, great or small, to anyone and everyone around you, especially when you are trying to sleep or be stealthy.

Amulet of the Panes: Enchanted Amulet

While wearing this amulet, you can use an action to turn a 5’x5’ portion of a wall into a window for 5 minutes. Make a DC15 Intelligence check if you desire the window to be stained glassed or 1-way.

            5 charges/day

Boots of Peed: Cursed Boots

Curse: While you wear these boots, your feet will smell like urine, but you won’t have to use the bathroom either. Thrice a day, you may target anyone within 20’. That person must make a DC14 Constitution save or pee their own pants.

Mariner’s Amor: Cursed Amulet

This amulet is shaped like a Jolly Roger and cannot be removed until the curse is lifted.

Curse: The wearer of the amulet is enamored by pirates, sailors, buccaneers, and anyone that says “Yo Ho” or “Argh”, swears like a sailor, or sings sea shanties. You gain -4 to attack against such people and disadvantage on checks when resisting their allure.

Most of these item are just items from the DMG with a letter removed. "Goggles of Nigh" While wearing these clear lenses, you have +5 to active and passive Perception checks on anything within 5 [...]

5 non-Dungeon Master's Guide "items" and 26 DMG items— with one letter of the name removed in a cliche attempt at making different items —for a total of 31— not 32 —items. The "Leeching Dagger" is arguably not actuall [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
